Kentucky State Parks want to be your valentine this February
KENTUCKY (KFVS) - Looking for something different this Valentine's Day? Get out to a Kentucky State Park for a weekend with your special love.
They have several holiday packages that will keep you out of the doghouse.

Barren River Lake State Resort Park, Lucas
Honeymooners Weekend, Feb. 12-14
Barren River Lake State Resort Park invites you to celebrate Valentine's Day by bringing your special someone for a fun, romantic weekend getaway. Friday night is costume karaoke night! Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. will feature the "Not-so-Newly Wed Game" to see how well you know each other. Saturday night, sit down in the Driftwood Restaurant and enjoy a delicious dinner buffet, then dance to your favorite songs provided by a DJ from 8 p.m.-midnight. Blue Licks Battlefield State Resort Park, Mount Olivet
Valentine's Dinner Theater, Feb 12-13
Patrons will dine from a delicious all-you-can-eat buffet featuring Kentucky State Park favorites as well as a dessert buffet. Afterwards, be treated to great entertainment with a murder-mystery! Fantastical Theatricals will present "Darling, You Slay Me" at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 12 and 13. Tickets are $35 (includes tax) per person for dinner and entertainment. Sweethearts Weekend, Feb. 12-14
Buckhorn Lake State Resort Park invites you to celebrate Valentine's Day. Bring your special someone for a fun, romantic weekend getaway. The two-night Sweethearts Weekend Package includes a lodge room for Friday and Saturday night, Saturday night dinner buffet, and special entertainment – all for $155 per couple. A variety of fun-filled sweetheart activities planned for the weekend including the "Not-so-Newly Wed Game" and Saturday evening entertainment. Valentine Murder Mystery Dinner Theater Feb. 12-13
Carter Caves will explode with laughter, murder and mayhem with our very first Valentine Murder Mystery. Enjoy a delicious dinner buffet, featuring several of our chef's specialties. Then, test your sleuth skills as you help solve the fiendishly funny "Silent Night, Deadly Night!" performed by the company Murder and Merriment. Show times are Friday and Saturday evening at 7 p.m. Seating will begin at 6:45 p.m. The cost for the dinner and show is $34.95 (plus tax) per person. Cumberland Falls has been a romantic getaway for decades. Bring your sweetie for a night of entertainment and relaxation. On Saturday evening, Fantastical Theatricals will entertain with an interactive whodunit mystery dinner theater. Sweetheart Wreath Workshop, Feb. 13
Learn how to make your own heart-shaped wreath from natural materials found in our state! We'll use vines to create a wreath base, and then decorate them with natural and other materials. The park will provide everything necessary, but feel free to bring any items you'd like to add for a more personal touch. The workshop is 1-3 p.m. and costs $10 per wreath. General Butler State Resort Park, Carrollton
Perfect Harmony Dinner and Dance, Feb. 13
How does a special night of fine dining and dancing sound? If you say perfect, then mark this event on your calendar! The dance floor will be out for all to enjoy, or just feel free to sit back and be entertained with the perfect harmony sounds of a 9-piece band called "'The Usual Suspects" from Louisville. The park is offering two options. The General Butler Lodging Package is $175.95 plus tax per couple. It includes Saturday night lodging, the dinner and dance, and Sunday breakfast buffet. Make plans for a special weekend at Jenny Wiley State Resort Park for Valentine's weekend. The park is offering a special overnight package that includes one night's lodging, Saturday night dinner for two, breakfast for two and chocolate-covered strawberries in your room for $109 plus tax per couple. The park is also offering a Valentine's Dinner on Feb. 13 from 4-9 p.m. that will feature a choice of two entrees – all-you-can-eat catfish, porterhouse pork chop, sirloin steak or two-piece grilled chicken breast with one side item, soup and salad bar for $30 per couple (tax and drink not included). Tea Tuesday at Waveland, Feb. 16
Waveland is kicking off the 2016 Tea Tuesday at Waveland with a special Valentine's high tea and low tea on Tuesday, Feb. 16. Normally, our teas start at 2 p.m. but for this special Tea Tuesday, Waveland will host a low tea served at 1:00 p.m. and high tea served at 6:30 p.m. All teas include savory food, not to mention the delicious tea served by period dressed interpreters.
